20 November 2015. Lucara Diamond Corp., a Vancouver-based diamond company, has recovered a massive 1,111 carat diamond in Botswana, the world’s second largest gem-quality diamond ever discovered. The type IIa diamond was found in the Karowe Mine in Botswana and is not only the second largest ever discovered, but the largest ever found through a modern processing facility, the Large Diamond Recovery XRT machines, and the largest ever found in Botswana.
