4 December 2014. A fire struck the $6.6 billion Oyu Tolgoi copper mine today, the largest excavation in Mongolia. The blaze was brought under control and an investigation is under way, according to Tony Shaffer, head of media relations for Turquoise Hill Resources Ltd. (TRQ), part owner of the mine. There were no reported injuries.
