20 April 2015. The European Union has agreed that Hungary can receive nuclear fuel from Russia to expand its only nuclear plant, a milestone decision that will allow the project to proceed, a Hungarian government official said Monday. Natural gas, coming mostly from Russia, is a major source of energy for Hungary. Its only nuclear plant Paksi Atomeromu supplied 54% of the country's power demand last year.
